Kris has published a blog post about some controversial subjects… falling down (or being “slain in the Spirit”), and laughing uncontrollibly (“Holy laughter”).

Bethel church gets negative press for a lot of the things that happen there. I grew up where that kind of thing was weird and you had to be careful because it could be from the devil. I’ll be honest the laughing can be odd and even irritating if you aren’t the one laughing. Why are they laughing so hard when nothing seems to be funny? hah. I did experience falling over once. I was getting prayed over and it happened. I remember laying there thinking that it felt peaceful, but I wasn’t sure what it was all for. My mind was working “just fine” and I think that may be the problem. Things of the Spirit are, well, spirit. I believe we are created as body, soul and spirit, and that they interact with each other. However, I think we need to get better at understanding the spirit side. I think it’s like Todd White says “our hearts can take us places our minds don’t fit”. There are things of the Spirit that we just cannot rationalize and I’m good with that. It’ valid, and something worth pressing into for more understanding.
